Lori moved back to Edmonton in 2003 after being away from her hometown for 18 years. With no idea what she was going to do, her brother Ken thought that this would be a great opportunity to help out at Lucki’s temporarily until she secured employment elsewhere. As it turned out, this “temporary” position turned into a partnership in 2006 where she took on the role of Business Manager and it has been history ever since. Needless to say, it was a package deal so Lola, her furry friend, was hired along with Sophie as the “Lucki’s Greeters” getting paid 60 minutes an hour and all the free pets they could conjure!
Ken, owner and operator of Lucki’s, graduated with a Bachelor of Physical Education Degree from the U of A in 1980. It’s no wonder he found his passion in the fitness world as Ken participated in sports from a young age. Ken was involved in many aspects of fitness by coaching and moreover, a mentor to young athletes involved in Little League Baseball to Minor Hockey. Most importantly, he was also involved in the activities that his three children participated in throughout the years. When you drop by the store you won’t see Ken going too far without his loyal companion, Sophie, by his side.
OUR AWESOME STAFF!
Lucki’s would not exist if it wasn’t for the awesome and talented staff that we have! Some of our employees have been with us for a number of years and have contributed to the success of the business immensely. We are ever so grateful for their enthusiasm, passion, optimism and most importantly their hard work and dedication that has attributed to the growth of Lucki’s. They are our family, and like any family the bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life! At Lucki’s, that’s what we continue to strive for! We are one “Lucki” bunch!
